The Honda Pilot has a slight power advantage over the 4Runner with a 280 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque power output compared to the Toyota 4Runner’s 270 horsepower and 278 pound-feet of torque. Also, the Pilot’s smooth-shifting nine-speed automatic transmission is a lot more refined compared to the 4Runner’s five-speed automatic transmission. Towing capacity of both the SUVs are similar but the 2022 Pilot has a slight advantage over the 4Runner is its lower curb weight of 4,041 pounds compared to the 4Runner’s 4,400-pound weight giving it a better performance push.
Talking about the interior, the Honda Pilot has an eight-seating capacity as standard configuration which helps in accommodating a lot more occupants compared to the 4Runner’s five passenger capacity.
